:. Frequently Asked Questions
How do you charge for your services?
Our hourly rate is $200/hr. However, certain cases are charged a flat fee rate, while others are performed on a contingency fee basis. While every case is different, the fee for our services would be discussed at the initial consultation.

What do you mean by a retainer?
When you pay a retainer, it is simply pre-paying for future services and expenses. Expenses may include court filing fees or other out-of-office charges. Unlike many firms, we do not charge for copies, faxes, regular postage or long distance phone calls. As we work on your case, our time is billed against what you have already paid.

Will I have to pay anything more besides the retainer?
It depends on how complex your case is, and how much time we have to put into it. We have no way of knowing how much time it will take to resolve your situation, so we can’t predict the total amount that your case will cost. We will continue to bill you for our work, and as your original payment (retainer) is used, we suggest you continue to pay ahead if your case is still in progress. You will receive monthly statements so that you can review the work being done on your case and the status of your account.

What if I can’t pay it all every month?
Anything past due after 30 days will be charged interest of 1.5% a month. It is best to pay something every week or every month, even if you can’t pay the whole bill. We are very accommodating if you are making regular payments.

Do you accept credit cards?
Yes, and we are happy to take your check, money order, or cash. Also, if you cannot get here during our office hours, you may slip your payment through the slot in the door.

When I pay for an attorney to represent me, does that guarantee I’ll have the results I want?
No. Our attorneys have over 40 years of experience in working cases like yours; they know the courts and procedures; and they will work hard on your case. But some things are out of their control. You can be assured you are getting the best representation possible.
